About Us
Kevin has been involved with Artificial Insemination, farming and haying since the mid 1970's. He wears many hats at KDJJ Appaloosas and is a huge part of our operation in addition to working for one of the largest company's in the World.
Dar's background is medical nursing and she has been certified in Equine Artificial Insemination, Equine Nutrition, Certified Trick Training, Certified NFTA Hay and livestock water testing.

LOCATION
KDJJ Appaloosas is located in beautiful, central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We are only 2 hours North of Greenbay, Wi., 2.5 hours from the famous Mackinaw Bridge and 2 hours east of Lynn Palm's Upper Michigan Training facility, Royal Palm Ranch. Come visit us and our beautiful horses, coffee is always on. Please call for specific directions.
OUR GOAL IS SIMPLE...BUT EXTREAMLY PURPOSEFUL
As a breeder, we breed extremely purposeful for all the conformational/mind attributes plus COLOR from WORLD AND NATIONAL CHAMPION STOCK!! We are extremely conscience for not only base coat color but for LP pattern for the future of the breed. The day of breeding for a "hope and prayer" is more and more obsolete and is being replaced with extremely careful, genetically purposeful, AND futuristically upholding the breed. Our equine market can no longer embrace anything less then the highest expectations. Therefore, we strive to produce TALL BLACK/BAY, large blanket or leopard foals with primarily black or bay based and DNA'd for base coat color crosses to fit specifically to our mares and stallion. We require top bloodlines, conformation, balance and form, and above all kindness and trainability, which is natural in the Appaloosa! ***Whether you show, trail, or just want color in your back yard, our mission is to produce the best quality for many disciplines. We strive for...life long companions!

We believe power is in knowledge and life is a constant learning curve! It was once believed that the longer you have been in a single breed the more knowledge you have. The truth of the matter is the more you change with any breed and move forward, the more knowledge you will gain... so, although we have been breeding for decades, we truly believe its a constant learning adventure!

Here at KDJJ Appaloosas, we feel the best hay is our own therefore, we make and test our own hay. We pride ourselves on daily care and assessment given to each individual horse. They are given vit/min and probiotics daily, along with being handled on a regular schedule, wormed, trimmed and have routine visits by our vets. Our pastures are hand groomed and maintained and equally important is our manure management, both to benefit our horses and our environment. You can see how all our personal care pays off in our stock! Ask the folks that have purchased KDJJ horses!
